AI for HR — conversational AI for employee self-service at a Fortune 500

A Fortune 500 wanted to give 88,000 employees a single HR assistant across Teams and the intranet — policy Q&A, PTO, benefits and case creation grounded on the sanctioned policy set. pronix.ai delivered 58% ticket deflection from the HR service desk.

The challenge

HR service desk backlog was a chronic complaint, and 61% of tickets were policy Q&A and PTO/benefits transactions that never needed a human. Employees also complained about answer drift between intranet, chatbot and HR desk agents.

Our approach

Step 01

One grounded knowledge source

Consolidated policy content into a single grounded source; retired three overlapping intranet pages. Bot answered from the same source HR agents did — no drift.

Step 02

Workday and ServiceNow tools

Idempotent tool calls for PTO balance, PTO request, benefits summary and HR case create — with SSO identity flowed through end-to-end.

Step 03

Teams-native surface

Deployed as a Teams app so it lived where employees already worked — plus a fallback web widget for non-Teams staff.

Step 04

Sensitive-topic hard routing

Anything touching harassment, leave under FMLA, or accommodation requests hard-routed to a human within one turn.

Our HR ops team got their Mondays back — the queue used to be 900 tickets on a Monday morning, now it's under 400.
